Deep Subwoofers

Thank you for purchasing the Deep Collection™ Subwoofer. At Origin Acoustics, we take pride in providing you with a high-quality product. All of Origin Acoustics’ speakers are designed to have excellent sound quality, longevity, and a simple installation process. This instruction booklet covers the necessary information for a smooth installation, including: the tools you will need, step-by-step instructions for installation, troubleshooting tips for any errors that may occur, and all warranty information. If for any reason you experience problems or if you have installation questions please call us at (844) 674-4461. Hours of operation are 8:00am to 5:00pm (Pacific Time), Monday through Friday.

The design of the Deep Subwoofer Collection stands on its own, literally. The mid-century modern feet, brushed aluminum top, and fully-wrapped black cloth finish give these subs just enough allure to stand out, but their relatively small size makes stashing them away effortless. Add in efficient BASH amplifiers, massive magnets, and tuned passive radiators, you have a winning combination of style and performance.

Subwoofer Control Panel

The Deep Collection of subwoofers used high-quality high-efficiency amplifiers. Standard controls include crossover, phase, volume, and auto-on.

Use this knob to set the highest bass frequency the subwoofer will play, from 50 to 150 Hz. If you’re using an AV receiver or surround-sound processor, set this knob at 150 and use the crossover built into the receiver or processor. If the subwoofer is installed in a stereo system, set this knob as close as possible to the lowest rated bass extension of the main left and right speakers.

Use this knob to adjust the phase of the subwoofer relative to the main speakers. This will help achieve a smoother blend of the sound of the subwoofer and the main speakers. To adjust it, sit in the chair or couch where you usually listen, and play some bass-heavy music with the phase knob set to 0. Now play the same music with the knob set to 180. If you hear a difference, experiment with different settings until the bass sounds smoothest from your chair.

This knob adjusts the subwoofer’s volume. Turn it clockwise for full volume. Note that the subwoofer level control in an AV receiver will also affect how loud the subwoofer plays. With most AV receivers, setting this knob at about halfway up (the 12 o’clock position) will provide a volume level that allows the subwoofer’s level to be matched with that of the main speakers

Auto On/Off

This switch functions only when the power switch is set to “on.” When this switch and the power switch are both set to “on,” the subwoofer’s power will always be on. When this switch is set to “auto,” the subwoofer’s power will come on automatically when it senses an incoming audio signal. If there is no signal for 15-18 minutes, the subwoofer will automatically shut off.

Subwoofer Connections

Connect the subwoofer to a receiver or preamp using an RCA interconnect cable, not included. The sub can either be connected to a dedicated LFE output or subwoofer output using a single mono cable or, by using a “Y” adapter, to a stereo, adjustable line level output. A fixed line level output is not appropriate as the subwoofer level will not change to follow the adjustments in system output level.

Wireless Transmission

Please using Origin Acoustics WSK200 (Seperate Purchase) to connect the any Deep Collection Subwoofer to a line-level source. Either LFE or Line Level can be selected, but only one is sufficient.

No Sound

Turn the unit to the off position, check the power cord, ensure it is fully plugged into the subwoofer, and connected to a quality power conditioner or outlet. Then turn the power back on.

Ensure the inputs are securely connected to both the source and the RCA inputs. Then check the volume on your audio source is both on and sending a signal to the unit.

Poor Sound Quality

If you hear static or the sound is cutting in and out, check the audio cables. If the problem increases when a cable is adjusted, then the cable is most likely faulty or not connected properly.

Today’s audio systems may have several places to adjust the volume. For example, your MP3 player may have a volume control, and your amplifier may also have one. Check to be sure that the volume isn’t set at more than 80% on any device.
